Hi, hello! Thank you for being here.
About Me:
I'm a poet and short prose writer transplanted from Columbia, Missouri to the idyllic Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where I've put down roots with my husband, dog, and excessive number of houseplants.
Before moving here and earning a hybrid-track MFA from Northern Michigan University, I attended The University of Missouri, where I received my BA in English. I've been fortunate enough to read for various publications, such as Persea Books, The Missouri Review, and Passages North. Currently, I'm reading flash/micro fiction for Fractured Lit. My day job(s) consist of bartending, freelancing, and homesteading. I feel beyond fortunate to do so many things that I love.
For a complete list of my current and forthcoming creative works, check out the "Words" tab!
Some of my preferred subject matter includes a sad-yet-hopeful meteorologist, disasters, winged creatures, layers of atmosphere, smallness, women experiencing magically real circumstances, and the end of the world. Some of my largest influences are Aimee Bender, Rebecca Pelky, Mary Ruefle, Kim Addonizio, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut.
When I'm not writing, I enjoy playing story-based video games, gardening, reading, hiking, craft cocktail-ing, and sewing. There's a good chance I'm listening to metalcore or a true crime podcast right now. I have strong feelings about umbrellas and think grapes taste better frozen.
Whoever you are, I hope my words find you well and that within them, you find something of meaning.
Thanks for stopping by!
